The Teen Challenge year-long program aims to stabilize an addicted person first. Then identify and deal with the underlying issues that may contribute to addiction. It helps the person identify triggers and develop skills to deal with them.
Teen Challenge’s philosophy is that short-term programs are a good first step toward recovery. It can sometimes take many months for the impact of substance abuse to clear a person’s body and mind. During the program, the person gets physically, spiritually and mentally stronger. Long-term programs vastly improve the chances of staying clean and living a drug-free life.
The person must be willing to consider a faith-based approach and be 18 + in age. Teen Challenge has nine centres across Canada, three of which are in Ontario.
