Treatment Service
Part of Norfolk General Hospital and funded by the Ministry of Health, Holmes House provides a safe, welcoming space for individuals aged 16 and older. Holmes House is a community-based addiction support program.
They offer services that include 24/7 bed-based withdrawal management and a variety of treatment programs, including a 21-day residential program or a day treatment program.
Their service offers the following:
Applicants must be substance-free for at least 72 hours before their admission date. They recommend attending a withdrawal management program, a RAAM Clinic, or another similar service beforehand.
Helping Indigenous peoples reclaim their heritage, culture, and identity through a six-week program. A range of evidence-based therapies and services, including individual counselling, group therapy, traditional healing practices, and educational workshops.
They offer short- and long-term residential treatment programs, day treatment, and comprehensive outpatient substance abuse programs that honour Indigenous traditions and values.
However, the facility is not medically equipped, so they cannot accommodate individuals on Methadone, Suboxone, Narcotics (such as Tylenol-3), Ativan, or any Anti-Psychotic medications.
Acceptance is achieved through referrals from community-based frontline workers, such as NNADAP representatives, mental health workers, counsellors, and Indigenous and Non-Indigenous Service. Agencies.
